Trust is the biggest barrier to buying secondhand online. What if the item is not as described? What if the seller never ships? We built Refit buyer protection to remove those worries completely.
Here is how it works: when you buy something on Refit, your payment is held in escrow. That means the seller does not get paid until you confirm you have received the item and it matches the listing. If something goes wrong, you are covered.
If the item never arrives, you get a full refund. If it arrives but does not match the description (wrong size, condition not as stated, different item entirely), you can open a dispute and we will review it within 24 hours.
For rentals, the same protection applies. Both the renter and the lender document the item condition with photos before and after the rental period. If there is damage, the security deposit covers it. If there is a dispute, we mediate.
Payment options include card (Visa, Mastercard) and PayNow via Stripe, plus Refit Pay (our in-app wallet) for faster checkout. All payment processing is handled by Stripe — we never store your card details.
Our goal is simple: make buying preloved feel as safe as buying from any major retailer. Because the only thing stopping most people from shopping secondhand is trust — and we are fixing that.
